DIVERSITY
AND INCLUSION

Diversity and Inclusion

We place Diversity and Inclusion at the heart of everything we do at Investigo and work hard to ensure that our culture is inclusive to all.

At Investigo we place diversity and inclusion at the heart of everything we do. It is a topic that is extremely important to us as a business and driven by our CEO and Senior Management team down through to all our people and across our networks. We work hard to ensure that our culture remains inclusive to everyone that have dealings with us – our people, our clients and our candidates.

Our own Diversity and Inclusion journey started back in 2016 and since then we have made great steps in both our internal approach, as well as bringing the topic to the forefront of our client education programme.

Our D&I strategy is our most ambitious to date with both an internal and external focus. Our internal strategy focuses on how we attract, retain and grow diverse talent. Our external strategy will help us to work more effectively with our clients on diversifying their shortlists whilst also running a client education programme with an extensive D&I events calendar and insights from an array of experts.

Our Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) journey to date:

  • Our first step was to create a committee who set our D&I agenda, whilst actively promoting and supporting awareness of the richness provided by a diverse workplace community within the business.

  • The committee work closely with VERCIDA Consulting to ensure that we are moving forward though meeting on a monthly basis and driving our D&I strategy.

  • Conducted Unconscious Bias training across the whole of the business.

  • In 2018 we announced Inclusivity as our fourth value. What we mean by this value is that: we care about individuality and diversity; we are a team and work collaboratively across all areas of our business and we support everyone, so they can reach their full potential.

  • We introduced flexible working to our entire workforce with the opportunity to work from home and work flexed hours.

  • Our business model had always been based on hiring experienced people in recruitment. However, recently, our recruitment policy has expanded to include inexperienced hires from diverse industry backgrounds. We have just piloted our first three Academies at Investigo. To encourage a more diverse and varied background, none of the candidates who applied to our Academies were screened based on their CVs.

  • Our LGBTQ network - Investigay, formed beginning of 2016, has gone from strength to strength and now hosts the most anticipated events in our social calendar and we are now looking to introduce external LGBTQ industry events.

  • We actively seek to partner with charities that align with our D&I strategy. In 2018, we partnered with Centre for Mental Health and in 2019 we are working with Panathlon. The charity provides sporting opportunities to over 17,500 disabled children every year.

  • Further reaching business accomplishments have been to advise and actively support our clients looking to promote D&I. We have hosted a series of “Women in” events drawing on female key speakers from StrategyProperty, Financial Services and Accountancy with a view to empowering women within these sectors. We will be hosting more similar events in 2021.
