Commercial Lead


£85,000 to £100,000


Manage commercial accountabilities of supplier activity, deliverable tracking, resource tracking, schedule and dependency management, commercial tracking, escalation leadership and reporting.

  1. Ability to create / draft SOWs, commercial agreements
  2. Minimising cost escalations with a large systems integrator
  3. Manage contract proactively
  4. Performance Manage 3rd party including RACI's


This will role will be sitting within the Project Management Office (PMO) of the Programme

You will e responsible for tracking supplier, internal activities and deliverables, ensuring commitments in Statements of Work are met, and leading escalations as required.

The role requires close interaction with market teams, programme leadership, system integrator(s), and other 3rd parties in order to enable effective execution of the delivery across Programme.

Job Holders are typically responsible for (key accountabilities):

  • Lead commercial management of 3rd parties (including negotiation of commercial changes and statements of work).
  • Lead and manage escalations with suppliers and wider stakeholders when commitments are not being met.
  • Lead supplier activity and tracking of deliverables proactively to ensure commitments (including RACI, stage gate) are met.
  • Drive and track internal dependencies to ensure meets it's obligations to suppliers.
  • Proactively manage resource, such as tracking and resolution of vacant supplier positions, resource and skill gaps.
  • Own and participate in various Project Management processes which include, but not limited to:
  • Driving progress vs plan (key project KPI's)
  • 3rd Party commercial management
  • Change control (including drafting of simple, clear change notes)
  • Stage Gate criteria deliverable and schedule adherence
  • Activity and deliverable tracking
  • Issues, dependencies, and actions management
  • Capacity and resource tracking and planning
  • Maintain and lead planning on the basis of change request pipeline.
  • Manage stakeholders at various levels internally and externally (workstreams to the Programme Execs).
  • Manage ad-hoc reporting and be a delegate for wider set of the PMO-related activities.
